A gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma, chronic stress, and nervous system overwhelm. These sessions support you to come into relationship with your body at a pace that honours your nervous system, your lived experience, and your innate wisdom.
Your body has been working hard to keep you safe.
For a long time, maybe your whole life, it has been doing what bodies do when the world asks too much of them. Locking things away. Running the same survival patterns on repeat. Keeping you functional, moving, present enough, while something underneath stays braced and waiting.
Talk therapy can only go so far. At some point, the story has been told enough times. What hasn't been reached is what lives below the words. The contraction in your chest when you try to speak up. The way your body goes still when something feels like too much. The exhaustion of holding yourself together.
Somatic Experiencing® is a science-based approach to trauma healing created by Peter Levine, rooted in a simple truth: your body already knows how to heal. It has an innate intelligence that predates language, predates insight, predates every coping strategy you have ever learned. Our work together is not about pushing through or uncovering more. It is about slowing down enough to hear what your body has been trying to say.
We work with sensation, impulse, image, and emotion as they arise in the present moment. Not the story, but the aliveness underneath it. Gently, carefully, at a pace that honours where you are. Session by session, the survival energy that has been held in your nervous system begins to move. To complete. To release.
This is how you stop managing your life and start living it.
Will I be lying down during sessions?
Yes. Working lying down allows us to access the deeper layers of what your nervous system has been holding. When your body is fully supported, it becomes safe enough to let old patterns move and release. You will be on a massage table.
Will I remain clothed?
Completely. You stay fully clothed throughout the session. If I offer touch as part of your work, I will always ask for your consent first.
What kind of touch do you use?
Touch in Somatic Experiencing® is supportive and intentional. It's never clinical or invasive. I might hold your shoulder, your hand, or place a gentle palm on areas where you're tracking sensation. The goal is to help your body feel witnessed and safe enough to complete and release what is being held in your system.
What's the difference between online and in-person sessions?
In-person sessions allow for the full work, including touch if that serves you. Online sessions can include tracking and nervous system work, but without the option of physical contact. Most people perfer in-person sessions to allow for deeper co-regulation.
What if I'm not comfortable with touch?
We can work without it. Your comfort and agency are not negotiable. The work will still happen through tracking sensation, movement, and dialogue.
What do you charge?
Sessions are $150 per hour. Payment by PayPal or e-transfer is due before your session begins.
