
How I work with you
When the nervous system is stuck in survival mode, it won’t have the capacity to adequately process repressed emotion, so we start by building nervous system capacity. This is what we’re doing when we rewire the nervous system!
As you build nervous system capacity, it’s important to begin processing painful emotions slowly, in small doses that don’t overwhelm the nervous system. There are two rhythms you’ll use to do this:
Airing & Caring
Airing your emotions means giving them a place to go outside of your body. It looks like expressing them with language, tears, movement, etc.
Anytime you air your emotions, it’s important to intentionally care for your nervous system. This is the 1-1 work we do together.

What is Somatic Experiencing™️
Somatic Experiencing is an effective healing method developed to resolve trauma & regulate your nervous system. The goal of our session is to follow the wisdom of your body and allow relief from anxiety and stress.
In sessions, I track your nervous system to observe signs of fight, flight, and freeze, so that we can move towards deactivation and resolution. This process restores regulation, and creates an inner sense of relief.
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing at the Advanced Level and am also a Certified Trauma Support Specialist.

How is this different from Psychotherapy?
Licensed therapists are trained to diagnose and treat mental illness, trauma, depression, and other mental health issues that may be impacting your life. I believe we are not our diagnosis, and work with you compassionately to achieve goals, improve relationships, identify obstacles, and bridge the gap between where you are now and the future you envision for yourself.
